Sigue la línea de la costa del Atlántico norte desde Reykjavík y atraviesa el volcánico y glaciar paisaje de ensueño característico de la costa sur. Camina por detrás de la cortina de agua atronadora de la cascada de Seljalandsfoss, disfruta de las incréibles vistas desde lo alto de la catarata de Skógar, pasea por la mundialmente famosa playa de arena negra en Reynisfjara y vista el encantador pueblo costero de Vík.
El tour empieza con un recorrido por los campos de lava, justo al lado de la montaña volcánica en activo Hengill para bajar después hacia las tierras de cultivo en la costa. En los días claros se puede ver el volcán Hekla y en la distancia, la cumbre glaciar del volcán Eyjafjalljökull se eleva majestuosamente sobre las otras montañas. Justo a unos pocos kilómetros de la costa y fácilmente visibles están las islas Westman, un archipiélago de origen volcánico formado por 15 pequeñas islas, de las cuales, una de ellas se encuentra deshabitada.
Nuestra primera parada se sitúa a 60 metros de altura en la cascada de Seljalandsfoss, famosa por el camino oculto que pasa por detrás rodeándola. Pararemos después en la poderosa catarata Skógafoss desde la cual, después de subir un tramo corto de escalones, podremos disfrutar de una de las vistas más espectaculares de Islandia en un horizonte lleno de glaciares, volcanes y playas de arena negra.
El glaciar Sólheimajökull es el sueño de cualquier fotógrafo y justo ahí nos llevará nuestra siguiente parada camino de Reynisfjara, la playa de arena negra, otro lugar increíblemente hermoso. Las poderosas olas del Atlántico rompiendo contra las arenas negras, las columnas y la enorme cueva de basalto son un espectáculo inigualable.
Nuestra última parada será en Vík, el plueblo de Islandia situado más al sur y que se encuentra localizado en la carretera principal que da la vuelta a la isla. A pesar de su pequeño tamaño (291 habitantes) se trata del mayor núcleo poblacional en 70 km.
Visitar los tesoros naturales de la costa sur es algo que definitivamente no te puedes perder durante tu viaje por Islandia.

Qué llevar: Vestirse de acuerdo al clima. En Islandia siempre es recomendable llevar ropa abrigada e impermeable. Los cambios de clima pueden ser repentinos así que es mejor estar preparado. Tráete una chaqueta y pantalones impermeables, gorro y guantes. Se recomienda llevar también zapatos de montaña.

Duración: 10-11 horas, incluyendo una parada (mínimo 30 minutos) en las cascadas de Seljalandsfoss y Skógafoss, en el glaciar Sólheimajökull y en la playa de arena negra de Reynisfjara.

Itinerary
- Starting off in Reykjavik from our Reykjavik terminal at Skógarhlíð 10 we will depart for Hvolsvöllur, a 1.5hr. ride. This will be a 15-minute pit stop to grab light refreshments and use the facilities.
- The first site along the tour is then Solheimajökull Glacier, a humbling glacial tongue extending from the Myrdalsjökull glacier.
- The next stop is Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach with towering basalt columns, a basalt cave, and jagged lava pillars resembling petrified trolls.
- The lunch break will be at the small town of Vik, a cozy town with a typical Icelandic church overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
- Skógafoss waterfall will be the next stop after lunch with a stairway leading up to a view of glaciers, black sand beaches, and epic mountains.
- The final stop will be Seljalandsfoss waterfall with a walkway leading behind the waterfall. From here, the journey back to Reykjavik will be about 1.5hrs.
This tour is 11 hours long including travel time and the time you spend at each location. You spend at least 45 minutes at the major stops giving you plenty of time to enjoy nature and to take some photos.

- Please show up at our Reykjavik Terminal (located at Skógarhlíð 10) 15 minutes prior to the departure time. We kindly ask you to be ready at your pick-up point with your voucher, either in digital or printed form.
