Description
Experience the wildlife and nature adventure of a lifetime on this small group - personal whale watching tour. The custom made RIB boats allow you to get closer to the whales and puffins than any boats can offer. On this fun tour the fast, stable and safe boats also allow us to cover more area as we search for the wild life, thus increasing your chances of spotting whales, dolphins and bird-life.
This great whale watching tour starts from the Old Harbour of Reykjavík and during the puffin season (early May to the end of August) we also visit the puffins in their natural habitat. Next we head out in search of the whales. There are very few things that will beat the experience of seeing the whales and dolphins as up close as you can at sea level from our RIB boats.
Our whale watching boats are equipped with high performance suspension seats. These shock absorbing seats increase safety and comfort and reduce the risk of injuries. So you can comfortably & securely enjoy your whale watching adventure out on the North Atlantic waters.
After the whale safari we travel back to Reykjavík, where we will take ride along the city's shore line, experiencing a unique panoramic view of Reykjavík from the sea (perfect for photos).
Our boats will take you past the Sun Voyager sculpture and the harbour side of Iceland's most famous building, the glittering Harpa Concert Hall.
This tour has an age limit of 10 years & height limit of 145 CM and we recommend the The Classic Tour on the larger boats for families with younger children.

- Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your chosen departure. If you arrive later then 10 minutes prior to the departure we can not guarantee that you can join the tour.
- This tour has a minimum of 2 passengers. If the minimum is not met, we will offer you to reschedule or get a full refund.
- The tour has an age limit of 10 years & height limit of 145 CM

Flexible Ticket:
Your ticket is flexible which means you can change your departure time up to two hours prior to the reserved departure. If you need to move your booking please contact us directly by e-mail at info@whalesafari.is and we will assist you.

2019 Departures:
From the 1st of April to the 31st of May two departures a day at 10:00 and 14:00.
From the 1st of June to the 30th of June four departures a day at 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00 & 20.00
From the 1st of July to the 31st of August eight departures a day at 09.00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00 & an evening departure at 20:00.
From the 1st of September to the 30th of September three departures a day at 10:00. 13.00 & 15.00.
From the 1st of October to the 31st of October two departures a day at 10:00 and 14.00
Cancellations due to weather:
Our tours are dependant on weather and sea conditions so sometimes we need to cancel this tour due to winds in the main whale habitat area. Make sure to provide us with your contact details upon booking so we can contact you as soon as possible regarding any changes to your tour!

What do I need to bring
Dress appropriately for our northern ocean, so if you have it, bring warm outdoor clothing like a wool or fleece sweater, some warm headgear and gloves. Sturdy shoes are recommended.Check availability
